Lalbagh Fort History
During 17th century Mughal for complex, it was incomplete. Mughal Subahdar Muhammad Azam Shah was a son of Emperor Aurangzeb who was late emperor. He was started in 1678 AD. But Shaista Khan couldn’t continue work, and Shaista Khan was Muhammad’s successor.
But he can’t complete work the fort. Then the daughter of Shaista Khan name Iran Dukht Pari Bibi died in this place in 1684.
Then he thought that this fort wouldn’t ever improve. That’s why three major parts are constructed one tomb of the Pari Bibi of Lalbagh Fort.
After died of Shaista Khan, its popularity was lost for moving from Dhaka to Murshidabad. At the end of Mughal period, the fort became neglected and then it was changed as Lalbagh. Besides, the fort became Lalbagh Fort in Dhaka Bangladesh.
From that time, Lalbagh Fort Dhaka Bangladesh was development in different ways.
To the east of the Diwan-i-Aam, a square shaped water tank is placed as well as four corner stairs to move down into the tank.
Diwan-i-Aam was the greatest part of this fort. This place is also known as Lalbagh Fort haunted. People of this area say that sometimes they hear sing from that location.
Besides, Pori Bibi appears she sing and dance. Nowadays that doesn’t happen. But people still see, most of the end night a horseman goes into the fort and again comes out.
Water channels and fountains are common features of Mughal architecture. That tomb of Bibi Pari is attention-grabbing which is the most impressive. Lalbagh Fort masjid is in kellah which is the prayer in congregation.

Lalbagh Fort visiting hours is opened from Saturday to Friday and 6:30 to 8:30 as well as Saturday opening time is 9 am to 5 pm.
